Compliance
Tuesday 7 October, 09.30-14.00
Aston Hall Hotel, Sheffield, S26 2EE
This session will provide you with essential updates on our business and our analysis of the current industry environment. We'll also hear an investment market overview from Lothar Mentel (CIO, Tatton Investment Management Ltd) and a key compliance session from Graeme Stewart (Head of Consultancy, Paradigm).
These sessions are designed with Wealth and Investment firms in mind, and as always, CPD certificates will be provided for all attendees.
We are also pleased to welcome our strategic partners to share insights on various topics:
Deepbridge will cover why it is essential that financial advisers understand personal allowances, potential client scenarios and opportunities for utilising tax-efficient investments to provide the best advice to clients in our high tax world. They will explore why tax-efficient investments, such as Business Relief, EIS and SEIS are now critical tools for solving the challenges clients and advisers are facing.
With rising debt, soaring borrowing costs, and weak economic growth, some experts warn the UK could be on the brink of another financial crisis. Insight Strategist at Edentree Matt Parlour will explore the current state of the economy, the growing fiscal challenges, what to expect from the Autumn Budget, and whether the government has the tools to restore financial stability.
Glen Stewart, Head of Business Development, gives an introduction to Committed Capital and their evergreen EIS Fund, and HMRC Approved Knowledge-Intensive EIS Funds.
Nucleus will provide a first view of the platform roadmap ahead, showing the exciting developments to come. In addition, they’ll summarise some recent improvements that will be of benefit.
The Fintegrate team will deliver an introductory session on their new integration with FINIO, designed to help financial advisers produce real-time performance reports using money-weighted returns and live client data. They will demonstrate how to deliver a seamless, professional experience for every client while saving time and reducing inconsistencies by connecting directly to leading investment platforms.
Mitigo will be joining us to discuss cybersecurity protection for higher-risk industry sectors. Members of the Mitigo team will be available throughout the day and can be found in and around the venue. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have or provide further insight into their services.
Agenda to be confirmed shortly.
Please note, this event will be Investment focussed.

Online over 2 days - 22nd & 23rd October
Cost: £650 + VAT
What does the course entail?
The course follows a two-step format. Following the success of our RIAAT (Retirement Income Advice Assessment Tool) training pilot session at the end of last year, we are delighted to announce four new dates in 2025 when we will once again deliver this session.
As you may be aware, the RIAAT is now the standard used by the FCA to gauge the suitability of retirement income advice, with an expectation that firms will utilise the RIAAT in such cases. This training session is designed to make you familiar with the RIAAT tool, provide an understanding of its different sections and to test your proficiency in using the tool as part of a file review. The session is only suitable for firms with investment permissions.
So, what topics are included in the RIAAT course?
• RIAAT background
• Information requirements
• Case details
• Essential facts
• Suitability assessment
• Insistent client
• Consumer Duty
• Disclosure
• Results & Feedback
These training courses will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm, remotely via Teams, and are priced at £650+VAT per person. This includes the 3-hour training session itself, plus a case assessment for you to complete and have reviewed by the Paradigm File Review team, in order to help aid your understanding of the RIAAT tool and assist you in becoming proficient in its use.
Please note that places are limited for each session to ensure the best possible interaction and may therefore sell out quickly.
If you require any further information regarding these sessions, please do not hesitate to contact Paradigm's Consultancy Manager, Sharon Ardern, on [email protected] or alternatively call 07387 261051.

It was a great event and following Tim’s at Exeter Friendly’s presentation I have been able to place a tricky life case for a client with diabetes, so very worthwhile attending.
Mark Weller

5/5 for relevance, delivery as promised, quality of presentation and handouts
I found the course extremely helpful and gave some good additional points of action that we are currently missing. Graeme taught the course amazingly, the right balance of information with the ability to go off track a little bit to clarify a few points
Katie Badiani
Compliance Manager from First Financial
“A really valuable Mortgage & Protection workshop. we learned so much which will no doubt convert to business. Two informative presentations plus 4 round tables covering several lenders and Insurance providers. We met great BDMs and industry colleagues, had a fantastic lunch and was back in the office all within 4 hours. Really worthwhile and a will be a permanent fixture in our diaries as a must attend event”.
Rachel Lummis
Mortgage & Protection Adviser at Xpress Mortgages
It is hard to get excited about compliance, but Graeme, you seem to, and it is infectious.
The course has raised a number of points that we will go away, review and implement. A fine refresher of some of the most recent pieces of regulation that have come into play.
